Who we are
Green Destinations was established to deliver specialist local government services that help people become more independent while protecting health and wellbeing through value for money service delivery.
Our mission is to increase employment and training opportunities amongst hard-to-reach communities. We are proud to embrace a fully integrated local supply chain that positively contributes to the Local Multiplier Effect.
We employ local people, who in turn utilise a local supply chain to deliver local publicly-funded services. This approach strengthens communities, creates opportunities, and keeps value circulating within the local economy.
Our leadership and experience
Our Board of Management brings significant executive-level experience from both local government and the Third Sector.
Across the wider organisation, our team has more than 100 years of combined experience delivering publicly-funded services.
This depth of experience helps us deliver services with professionalism, accountability, and a clear understanding of the expectations placed on public service providers.
Our transport services
Our transport segment exists to help local authorities fulfil their statutory duties under Section 508B of the Education Act 1996.
Green Destinations supports local authorities in making the travel arrangements they consider necessary to facilitate school attendance for children who have special educational needs, disabilities, mobility difficulties, or who live beyond statutory walking distances.
We understand that these journeys are about more than transport alone. They are about access to education, safeguarding, consistency, and ensuring children and young people are supported in a way that protects their wellbeing and dignity.

Our services are built around safeguarding, public accountability, operational experience, and a deep understanding of the needs of local authorities, families, and communities.
Safeguarding First
We undertake safeguarding checks on those whose work or involvement brings them into contact with children and vulnerable adults, including drivers and passenger assistants.
Vetted Teams
All relevant team members are Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checked, helping ensure children and vulnerable passengers are supported by trusted personnel.
Public Value
We support local authorities to manage public money responsibly, deliver value for money services, and promote sustainable travel and transport wherever possible.
Training and certification
Our training approach is designed to prepare team members to work safely, respectfully, and effectively with children and young people who may have a wide range of needs.
- Awareness of different types of disability, including hidden disabilities
- Awareness of what constitutes discrimination
- Skills to recognise, support and manage pupils with different types of disabilities
- Appropriate communication skills for pupils with visible and hidden disabilities
- Implementation of healthcare protocols, including emergency procedures
