Quick answers

Common questions, answered properly.

This page keeps things clear and practical. For live route matters, safeguarding concerns or operational incidents, please use the agreed operational escalation route rather than a general website enquiry.

What does Green Destinations do?

Green Destinations provides specialist passenger transport, including SEND home-to-school transport, with a focus on safety, safeguarding, trained staff, value for money and quality of service.

Do you operate nationally?

Yes. Green Destinations operates nationally across the UK. Commissioners can contact us directly to discuss current capacity, geography and mobilisation requirements.

Do staff have DBS checks?

Relevant roles require appropriate safer recruitment checks and DBS suitability before working on services involving children or vulnerable passengers.

Do you use MiDAS and PATS training principles?

Yes. Driver standards are aligned with MiDAS principles, and passenger assistant standards are aligned with PATS principles where relevant to the role and service.

Can meet-and-greet happen before routes start?

Where appropriate, yes. A meet-and-greet can help reduce anxiety, introduce staff, clarify handover expectations and make the first journey calmer.

What matters most to councils when commissioning SEND transport?

Councils usually need to balance three things: value for money, safety and quality of service. We support those priorities through staff suitability checks, training, safeguarding controls, vehicle readiness, incident reporting and operational ownership.

What happens if a passenger refuses to travel?

Our staff are expected to remain calm, protect immediate safety and contact operations for guidance. The incident is then reported and managed through the appropriate process.

What happens if no authorised adult is present at drop-off?

The passenger is not simply left. Staff contact operations and follow the agreed no-meet or safe-handover process.

How do you support wheelchair users?

Wheelchair transport requires suitable vehicles, safe boarding, correct use of ramps or lifts, appropriate tie-downs, passenger restraints and trained staff.

Can I apply to work with Green Destinations?

Yes. Visit the careers page for driver, passenger assistant and operational support opportunities. Roles may require DBS checks, references, licence checks and training.

Should urgent safeguarding concerns be sent through this website?

No. Urgent safeguarding, live operational or passenger welfare matters should use the agreed operational escalation route, or emergency services where appropriate.

How can commissioners start a discussion?

Commissioners can contact Green Destinations through the contact page. Please include the broad nature of the requirement, timescales and whether the discussion relates to mobilisation, standards, safeguarding, value for money or service quality.
